We have had many bloodhounds and we are ending our pet parenthood with the hardest one we’ve ever had! The rescue commended us for having the strength to keep her. I have no idea why she hasn’t bloated!!! She’ll eat anything..she was starved for 4 years. To whom ever had the nerve to criticize you, they don’t know what you’re going thru!!! When all is said and done you know your limits, and while I don't know you personally I think it is safe to say you are exhausted and need so to let go of a few things and take care of yourself, too. Duke needs a family to love and belong to. He will be fine in a loving home, and you will once again have done the right thing

Whatever you decide, I support you. I love Duke too but, I can't adopt him either. Knowing your limitations is wisdom. Thank YOU for ALL that you and your husband do. What you both do for all of these animals is nothing short of phenomenal. You saved Duke's life and you will provide an even better life for him when you find him an amazing forever home. I don't know how you manage just to take care of the donkeys? Then there is Meg and the other goats and all of the dogs and cats. You should sleep well tonight. You are doing the right things.
I know you are going to the best for Duke. My parents had a Great Dane. And she was suppose to be my mom's dog. But decided she was more of my dad's dog. She got to live to be 11 1/2 years old.
