  2. Arlan and Annie, thank you for this conversation. I’ve stopped drinking and what’s been challenging is how so much of our socializing centers around drinking. What Annie said about how it tricks our brain to thinking certain things were more fun with alcohol makes so much sense. I’m enjoying learning that things I loved are still really enjoyable without alcohol or weed. Appreciate this so much 🫶🏽🙏🏽

  3. So glad to hear "This Naked Mind: Food Edition" is in the works because my first thought when I heard of this book was to read it and apply it to my relationship with food. Can't wait to see what comes of it. Excellent interview. I'm always impressed by the questions you ask and how it lays the groundwork for such thought provoking discussions. 🔥

  4. I have soooo many thoughts before, during and after this interview. Will try not to write a novel worth of comments…. Y'all talked about so many different things. The neuro marketing of the tobacco industry, down regulation, that it's not your fault, alcohol hijacking the brain- dopamine, that this is a mental emotional AND physical and that drinking is accepted in society as normal behavior. Understanding that alcohol is liquid sugar helps a lot. I would luvvvv to see both of y'all speak with Dr. Joan Ifland and Julia Ross. Dr. Joan goes h.a.m. on the sugar/processed food industry and the neuro marketing. And Julia Ross helps with amino acids and cutting cravings for certain things very quickly. They are both 🔥🔥🔥 Many of the sugar addiction people have background with alcohol, drugs and food addiction. And no matter if they are vegan based or keto based, the only ones I listen to are the ones that are 100% advocating for no processed food and getting off of all sugar (and alcohol). Which they say is the first drug that we receive as kids. Before we ever taste alcohol or anything else. I have books and organizations that I want to post here but, I will just stop here. lol Looking forward to listening to Grace's audiobook- the naked mind 💜🔥 Thanks 😊

  5. I saw that Red Table Talk episode and credit it with getting me thinking about the way alcohol is marketed to women and how pervasive it is. It played a small part in why I was so OK leaving my job, part of which was working on winery websites! I haven't read the book, but after this I may; I've been experimenting for a couple of months with just not buying wine or beer for home, and it's been great. Love this great interview, Arlan!
