Slowly but surely hemp and marijuana are being legalized. Eventually, all 50 states will legalize both plants and everyone can legally grow hemp in their backyards. Until then, North Carolina, Kentucky, and my home state: Nevada, have all approved industrial hemp and, in the case of Nevada, it has also legalized marijuana too following Colorado. So you can possess up to one ounce of marijuana on you at any time and it's completely legal.
Oh, and for the record, Australia found a better way of building hemp homes that uses the entire hemp stalk rather than separating the fiber. And it's a whole lot cheaper to build homes if you use full hemp, sand, lime and water. And if it were legal you could grow your own home.
